In 2020 we will host our third year for the Jackson Youth Program. The youth program will be offered to all boys in 6th-8th grades. The program will include a series of instruction, practices, and league play. The instruction and coaching will be conducted by the High School Coaching staff, along with team members from the Jackson High School Varsity and JV teams.
All practices will be on Mondays and/or Wednesdays from 4:30 PM to 5:45 PM, prior to the High School program practices. The league matches will be intramural and against other communities like Stow, Kent, and possibly other communities yet to be determined. This year the league matches will be held at 3 different sites, Jackson High School on April 19th, Stow High School on April 25th and Darby Hilliard High School in Hilliard Ohio (Columbus area).
Each player will learn basic and fundamental skills to play the game of volleyball. We will assemble as many teams as we can (Depending on # of participants and willingness to travel) that will compete based on appropriate skill level, regardless of grade/age. We will limit the number of participants on each team to maximize playing time for each player. We realize that spring sports have many conflicts and we will happily try to accommodate all players. Please communicate all conflicts VERY early in the team building process. After the season is over, each student will be supplied other opportunities to further their skills to prepare for our High School Program in the future.
The cost for the program is $120 and will include one Molten Flistatec volleyball ($45 Value), one practice shirt, and one uniform with number. There will be 10 Practices and 3 tournament dates totaling 7-10 Matches. The Schedule is listed below for your information.
